
Sharon Heiss R.N. brings together a wealth of knowledge of both eastern and
western health practices. Her western practical experience involves 30 years
as an advanced nurse practitioner in anesthesia and 10 years in pediatric and
public health nursing. Personal health challenges started her exploration of integrative
health modalities.
Sharon has practiced yoga since 1997 and started teaching yoga in 2001. Since then,
she has used yoga as a healing modality and a guide for balanced living. Her teaching
methods are based on the ancient teachings of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and Ayurveda,
the science of life.
Sharon has completed an internship in Integrative Yoga Therapy with Joseph and Lillian LePage,
(
www.integrativeyogatherapy.com). She completed a two year study in age appropriate yoga postureswith Stan Hafner (www.oneyoga.com). Initial formal studies were completed in 2001 with Sampuran
Singh Khalsa (www.thekundaliniyogacenter.com). Sharon is currently studying yoga philosophy with
Gina Lalli (www.GinaLalli.com) and Johanna Sullivan ( www.oneyoga.com). Additional complimentary
health education includes massage therapy, Reiki, and polarity therapy.
Sharon is a member of International Association of Yoga Therapists (www.iayt.org)
Her family is her joy. Together, they enjoy music, travel, gardening, sudoku, and life.
